Biography: Jasper was born to the master of the local tavern and inn. His father was Tylor Raventrec and his mother was Sheelan. Both cherished their son and did all they could to encourage all of Jasper’s interests, which turned out to mainly be a love of the forest and all that lived in it.

Sharden’s Vale was a small town that was located a long the main road. The population numbered barely over 100 people with the in being empty. And if the inn ever filled the total residents of the small village numbered almost 150. A any given time there was rarely more than 15 guests at the inn. Tylor and Sheelan often tried to find a mentor for their son. But none of the Rangers or caravan guard that would pass through would take the boy on as an apprentice. They all would say that their life was not for a young boy.

All along Jasper was happy where he was. He had the freedom to go off to the forest to enjoy the never ending sights of new things in the surrounding forest. His only duties at the Inn was to take care of the stables and to clean to common room. He usually had these chores over with in a few short hours after getting. At least twice a week his parents would spend a few hours teaching about the world and the peoples in it. Jasper also had his own agenda. He would question each and ever ranger and woods man that came through the Inn. Picking their brain for what ever bit of information that they would part with. He would soon start putting all of this knowledge in to a journal. That by the age of 11 he had at least 4 journals full of information on nature and all the life in it. Aside from his unusual love of nature, Jasper also knew that there was something else different about him but he never knew what it was.

By the time He was 13 he was a master of the all the woods within 25 miles of the small village. For the past 3 years had been able to stay out in the forest over night. The first time that he had done this his parents panicked. He returned in the morning, acting as if nothing had happened. He had been told that he was never to do that ever again, but as time passed he kept finding it harder and harder to sleep in his room, so he would sneak out and sleep in the forest. He had been doing this for almost a year before he got caught again. When his parents realized that he was more comfortable in the forest than in their home, they stopped fighting him and let him go in the forest when ever he wanted. And by his 13th birthday they had no fear what so ever when he was gone, even if it was for several days at a time.

When he was 14, there came to be a woodsman by the name of Rathman who took up residence in town. Rathman was a striking figure with his long blond hair and chiseled figure that he rarely covered preferring the freedom of no shirt. He and Jasper became fast friends. Rathman taught Jasper all that he knew, including the use of a bow and sword. Both of whish Jasper took to quickly and became Rathman’s equal with in a year. Jasper was starting to discover what his difference was, he felt more than friendship for Rathman. He also often notice that the man was watching him in a different light than that of mentor. But it would be a few more years till they opened that door.

In fact it was on his 16th birthday that Rathman came to Jasper and opened up to the boy. Both enjoyed their time together for almost 6 months until they were caught. The villager took less kindly of Rathman than they did Jasper. In fact, Rathman was hung to death. Jasper lost it when he heard what had been done to his lover. HE took to the woods and wasn’t seen for almost a month. When he returned he had been changed. At his side was a mountain lion, and he was clad in black studded leather armor. At his hip was an ornate sword and in his hands was a long bow that looked powerful in its simplicity. He announced that his name was now Raven and that he was leaving the village, and would not return.

AS to what happened in the forest for that past month none have known. And none will know but if the story must be told. Here it is, for limited view.

Jasper ran for almost half the day, tears running down his face as he tried to out run the news that Rathman was dead. But finally his legs gave out and he fell flat on his face. He lay there crying for hours after that as the truth sank in. Rage filled the empty place in he heart. He spent the next few days living as little more than a wild man. He would wonder for hours trying to find food or shelter. It wasn’t until he came upon a cave that he hadn’t seen before. This cave was large enough for him to use as a home. It only took a short while to clear out the place so that he could live. He did it in just enough time so that he escaped a storm. He then took the time to fully explore that cave. He found that the cave went on for a while. It lead to an actual room that had been carved out of the rock. It was a temple dedicated to the god of nature. He thought that it was an odd place to find a nature temple but, mountains were a part of nature. It had long since been taken care of. And Jasper set to cleaning it. When he finished the alter opened revealing the armor and weapons. The goddess then appeared. She said that he was to be one of her champions and that he was now to go by the name of Raven. She also blessed him with a companion, Gressia, the mountain lion.
