What does "homoerotic" mean?
You could pretty much ignore that. I am not really focusing on the
"sex" part so much. Granted, there may be some, but it is not
the focus. It is just that all of the characters are men and are attracted
to men. It is sort of a gay Lord of the Rings.
How do I join?
The first step will be to create a character by writing a biography.
An example is available at our website https://fantastyk.tripod.com/
You must complete your biography in the prescribed format of the
biographies on the website. You will also need an image of your character.
This can be a drawing or an image of a famous personality.
Do I have to mention that my character is gay in
the biography?
Not necessarily, but it might be good.
Who has more say on the characters? The GM or
the person acting it out?
The person acting it out has total control over his character.
I am very familiar with Dungeons & Dragons,
is this like that?
It is nothing like Dungeon's and Dragons. Well, a little like it. In
Fantastyk there is no GM per se. The GM, aka me, will only be in charge of
recruiting and the website. The team (not fellowship hehe) will be in
charge of where the mission goes. I believe in D&D the GM decides
everything that happens to the players. The only exception is of course,
characters can only be killed by their player. You can’t kill me and I
can’t kill you! Unless the death is woven into the storyline.
What race can I be?
The door is open to the first people that sign up for the game for
they will be setting the stage for the world and for everyone. If we only
have humans and elves, we will have a world that only has humans and elves
as the main races. There may be others, but would be minor and
inconsequential.
Can I be evil?
Yes, of course you can. However, remember that evil rarely wins. It
doesn’t mean you die. What is the old saying? You may win battles, but
not the war.
What is the RPG based on?
The basic storyline is the traditional storyline that 99.989% of
fantasy writers use...the peaceful world and darkness creeping back into
it.
Is the land divided into kingdoms by race?
I see it comparable to Earth - races started out in specific areas -
Mongoloid, Negroid, Caucasoid, however there are certainly pockets of
mixture - US, Canada, Australia, England, etc. For example, Africa has
primarily black people, however there are lots of black people in the US.
We are talking a pretty old planet. There will be a "United
Nations" where all the people have representation, that is how the
group is created.
Can I just watch?
The jury is still out on this one and I haven’t decided yet. Once we
get the game really going, I may permit "lurkers." Until then,
no.
