Kynar Valice was born in the large Elven city of Haven; also where the
Forest Temple of the Elven brotherhood was. His father was a man named
Jaken, a powerful druid within the temple. Kye's mother was Krestia, who
was the town's most proficient herb doctor. He grew up well respected in
his family and city, and learned in the ways of the forest.
As the years went by, he transformed into a handsome young man. With the
pale skin, a tall, lean body, and short dark brown hair, he had all of the
features that other creatures looked upon as the beauty of the elves. He
spent many of his days playing in the forest and making friends with the
animals and nature around him. Very active through most of his youth, he
always took it upon himself to help others in need as his parents taught
him.
When he was sixteen, his father started to teach him the ways of the
druid, learning the powers of nature. His father knew that outside of
Haven, however, was dangerous and full of evil, so he also had Kye be
taught under the instruction of the town's ranger guild. Excelling quickly
with the bow and using his keen elven sense of sight and sound, he became
a top scout for them.
When Kye turned nineteen, his father took him to Havens twin temple in
Marnia, which was the High Elf's temple of healing. They went there to pay
respect to the High Priests there and pray. As they were coming home, they
were bombarded by a band of dark elves. They were chanting a dark curse to
put on Kye and his dad but Jaken rebounded the curse with his own magic.
So instead they took out a dagger and killed him laughing, leaving Kye
there crying as they rode away on their dark stags. Kye ran back to Haven
only to find that the Dark Elves had already been there and killed two
more of the top druids and took the city's sacred stone, the Forest Jade,
the symbol of the city's power. Kye was crushed, along with his mom. He
took over his fathers position in the temple and took care of her. He felt
like something was missing. He wanted his dad back but he realized he
wanted more than this too. Deep emotions were brewing inside of him and he
didn't know what to do about them. He wanted someone in his life to make
him happy. He also had this raging hate inside of him for the dark elves.
He didn't want to stand behind the temple's doors any longer and hide
behind his Wood Elf brotherhood with their protective magic. He stepped
down and became a Ranger again, vowing to protect the city and the forest
of Haven at all costs. He picked up his bow and daggers, kissing Krestia
on the forehead. He would get the stone back, along with the hope of the
forest and its people. He was strong enough now and this time he would not
be caught unguarded. Maybe, he even thought, he might find something
to fill that emptiness inside of him.
