~ Wizards ~
Social Profile:
"Wizard" is a generic label given to a group of men who have
devoted their life to scholarly and physical research into mystical arts.
The Gifted, their more appropriate moniker, can be an individual from any
race that was born with an inherent ability to use magic.
When a child exhibits magical powers, a gatherer is sent from the
nearest brotherhood to change the child’s life. He is initiated into the
Brotherhood of Gifted and is trained to wield his powers.
As a child learns to be a magic user, he goes through various phases:

Novice: a student learning the basics of science, magic, and
elemental world.

Journeyman: a student following an older brother.

Apprentice: a gatherer and mentor to novices.

Warlock: warrior practicing the battle arts.
-
Mage: scholar and aristocrat learning the intricacies of
knowledge.

Sorcerer: integration of the storm-like warlock and pacifistic
mage.

Wizard: full magic wielder.
The Gifted are located in monasteries throughout Fantastyk. Typically
those who exhibit powers in certain realms reside in monasteries adjacent
to pockets of power (i.e., a Gifted whose power is rooted in fire lives in
the high volcanic mountain monastery of Novodech).
The capitol and largest monastery is Lorganth.
The Gifted are not to be confused with entities that possess specific
magical abilities. Those races include Fairies, Elves, Dragon Charges,
Frostlings, Mermen, Gnomes, and others.
Physical Profile:
A social stigma was created that all magic users are old men. To the
contrary, because Gifted can be any race, they can have any physical
attribute. While it takes a lifetime to become a Wizard, a Warlock is the
epitome of maleness. Wizards are typically the only brothers that leave
the safe confines of the monasteries so it is conceivable how the rumors
began. Wizards represent the entire Gifted community.
Natural/Supernatural Profile:
Gifted have the ability to wield magic. They encompass all realms of
magic including:

Air: control over the element of air – found often with water

Water: control over the element of water – found often with
air

Fire: control over the element of fire – found often with
earth
-
Earth: control over the element of earth – found often with
fire
-
Healing: ability to preserve and heal living things
-
Psionics: ability to conduct magic of the mind
-
Necromancy: ability to conduct magic revolving around death (not
necessarily evil)
Gifted are typically advanced in a realm, proficient in another, and
average in others. For example, a Mage may be advanced in air, proficient
in water, and can cast simple spells in the other realms.
Psychological Profile:
Other than Warlocks, gifted are generally excellent listeners and
passive by nature. They are taught to appreciate life and the intricacies
of Fantastyk.
Warlocks, because of their training are taught to harness the raw
energy of battle.
